Crosslink Capital traces its origin to 1989 when Sy Kaufman founded the firm as the Omega Ventures arm of Robertson Stephens. In January 1999, the Crosslink management team bought the firm and began operating as an independent investment organization. Today, Crosslink Capital manages over $1.6 billion in public equity long/short strategies with a focus on technology. Crosslink invests in companies at every stage from seed to pre-IPO to PIPES offerings. The size of the firm's investments vary, but usually range from $8 to $20 million per company. Crosslink invests in five principal sectors: Energy Technologies, Communication Services & Infrastructure, Computing & Semiconductors, Digital Media & Internet Services, and Software & Business Services. Crosslink announced the closing of its seventh venture capital fund (Ventures Fund VII), with $170 million of capital commitments Februrary of 2015.
