Onchenda is a social enterprise with the goal of restoring ecosystem services globally, ending world hunger by enabling local farmers, urban/suburban and rural families, would-be edible horticulturalists, and anyone else interested in growing/raising their own organic food to feed and employ themselves by selling the surplus through a local online food web. "Enabling" in this context means providing a comprehensive organic landscape design for any piece of non-toxic land; a sequential and phased prescription for restoration of natural capital; a detailed sourcing list of seeds, plants, livestock, materials, and equipment; for would-be growers, funding and mentoring for implementation; an e-commerce/m-commerce platform so they can open a virtual store of their own; and the Internet marketing, direct payment and delivery systems necessary to facilitate their prosperity.
